Recently, Kelly Gaudette, CBI Instructor of Fairborn High School arranged for Fairborn High School students to tour Apprenticeship Training Centers:

  • In December, junior and senior students visited the Ironworkers training center in Tipp City hosted by Pat Moharter, Training Program Coordinator; and
  • In late February, junior and senior students visited the three (3) training programs located on Poe Avenue, including the Dayton Electrical JATC, the Sheet Metal Workers JATC, and the Roofers JATC.

Junior and Senior level students learned of career opportunities in the building trades through apprenticeship training with presentation/discussion, tours of the training facilities, and hands on activities.  They appreciated to hear of career building programs through in-classroom and on-the-job training vs. a traditional classroom setting.
